About Us

The Paddock Equestrian Centre opened its doors to the horse lovers in February 2004 and is owned by the Paddock Trust and is a VAT registered company. With a true love & passion for horses the Paddock Equestrian Centre strives to provide the best in equine care.

Accommodation @ The Paddock offers a 3-star bed & breakfast service for guests that would like to stay over. We also offer a lovely Tea Garden with snacks and drinks at very competitive prices. Visit the Guesthouse page for more information on the accommodation.


Horse Riding Lessons

General Information

Before you or your children go horseback riding, you should know how to behave around a horse. You should never approach a horse from behind as you could easily startle them.

You should also walk to your horse from the front and let him see any tack & grooming equipment you are carrying before you step to his side. Horses often strike at anything approaching them from behind, because of a reflexive instinct to protect themselves.

Another way to improve your riding skills is to read books on riding! This way you are able to become familiar with the terms and training used by your instructor.

Lesson Rates Overview

Our Group Lesson fee is only R115pp for 1-hour. You receive professional lessons from trained instructors at The Paddock Horse Riding School.

Private Lessons can be arranged, for further information, please contact us.

Your Safety

For safety, all students are required to wear helmets. With the first two introduction lessons we will provide the helmet, thereafter riders should bring their own helmet, which can also be purchased from The Paddock.

A healed shoe (ie: school shoes) is a must to wear when riding to keep your foot from slipping through the strirrup iron. Don’t forget to adjust your stirrups to the proper length.


Stabling @ The Paddock

The Paddock Equestrian Centre currently houses an in-door facility for 32 horses with the new block of stables recently completed. Owners enjoy their own tack room space. Currently we have four (4) stables available for rent.
